The following questions will be used to create personal stories for our website and social media channels as we get regular feedback that people find it helpful to read about others experiences with mental health. It helps to break down stigma and helps to get people to seek help earlier.
While the questions refer to ‘a diagnosis’ we realise that not every experience with mental ill health comes with a diagnosis, people have different views of diagnosis (e.g. some find it useful whereas others don’t), and some experiences, for example a suicide attempt, are better described as a behaviour rather than a diagnosis. Please replace the work ‘diagnosis’ with the word you feel most comfortable with e.g. depression, anxiety, crisis.
